Small House Gallery is proud to announce Poppet and Pop, a daughter-daddy exhibition of drawings, sculptures, and video. Specifically made for this exhibition, these works are about responding to each other, sharing mark-making gestures and materials, communicating across our different life experiences, and collaboratively creating artworks in the micro-moments of parenthood and domestic life.

Throughout the drawings and sculptures, we've used elephants, rockets, and kids dressed as superheroes as the primary subject matter. The reoccurring theme of the work is an intergenerational fascination with similar things. The video is a montage of moving images we shot on our outings and daddy-poppet day, which goes through the colours of the rainbow while my daughter and I sing a bedtime song together
